The adorable Pansy, with it’s human-like face, has been much-loved over the centuries by artists, writers and gardeners alike. During Victorian times, the pansy represented thoughts of love, with nicknames such as Heartsease, Flame Flower and Heart’s Delight. The flowers are edible and look really pretty in salads or crystallised as cake decorations.
Our original pansy illustration has been embroidered onto our palm leaf bucket shaped basket bag by the skilful hand of women artisans in Morocco. A sustainable and eco-friendly handwoven tote basket, this design is perfect for pottering in the garden, foraging and gathering flowers, fruits, vegetables or fungi. It also makes for a cheerful home storage basket.
A combination of the time-honoured, traditional techniques of weaving and embroidery make these hand woven baskets are a true celebration of slow craft.
Please note | Our palm leaf baskets are handwoven in the round and feature a 'step' on the rim where they are tied and finished. This is intentional and not a flaw, but rather a part of the design.
